Voyages of Discovery has expanded its programme over the last 30 years to establish itself as a true destination-led cruising specialist, offering ocean voyages that are rarely found in other cruise programmes. From traditional roots in the Eastern Mediterranean and Red Sea, its year-round programme now features a wider selection of cruises than ever before, with more unconventional destinations that include India, Southeast Asia, the Orient and Indian Ocean. No-fly itineraries depart Harwich to Scandinavia, Iceland and Greenland, plus unusual destinations in the Mediterranean and Black Sea.
Discovery cruises the Norwegian fjords, Baltic, Mediterranean, Iceland, Greenland and the Red and Black Seas during summer (May-November) and Cuba, the Caribbean, South & Central America, Antarctica, South Pacific and Galapagos Islands during winter (December-April).
Voyages of Discovery operates one ship, the elegant 4-star mv Discovery. Small enough to reach out-of-the-way ports, large enough to make light work of crossing the great oceans, Discovery avoids the excesses of today's mega-liners. Instead, she has been expressly conceived for our special brand of 'discovery cruising' to create an atmosphere on board that is friendly and relaxed. There are all the facilities you would expect on a ship of this size, including three restaurants, a choice of bars and lounges, two pools, a well-stocked library, lecture theatre/cinema and internet centre.
All Discovery cruises represent outstanding value, with on-board gratuities, meals and entertainment included in the fare.
Cruises range from 7-night Norwegian fjords or Red Sea to 14-night Baltic, 15-night Antarctica, 30-night South America or cruises of more than 60-nights exploring the South Pacific, Galapagos Islands, South America and other exciting destinations.
A voyage of Discovery’s average staff-to-guest ratio is 1-to-2.
